Simple Dungeons is a one page RPG that strips down the classic fantasy roleplaying experience to its bare minimum. The rules are intended to be simple enough and familiar enough to be memorised easily, perfect for impromptu unplanned sessions or as a simple base that can slowly be expanded upon, if you're into homebrewing.

  • Features a scenario generation table to quickly get into the action.
  • Requires only a d20 and a d6 (but preferably more than one).
  • Uses the standard stat array (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma), so characters are easily converted into D&D or most OSR games with little homebrewing.
  • Includes the classic four fantasy classes (Fighter, Thief, Wizard, and Cleric) with two simple abilities each.
  • Has a colour version and a black and white version for printing.
  • No character sheets necessary. Any scrap paper or phone note is enough.

So cool, amazing graphics with a very oldschool feel! Really like the damage system and the spell selection. It's likely very good to use when you're a DM introducing people to TTRPGs.

This is a really awesome little system! :) I love how succinct everything is!

    Very interesting.

I like it.  Giving attributes double-duty as aptitude for checks and a resource to spend/refresh keeps things simple.

    Neat!

This is a pretty interesting piece, I like that starting classes have simple abilities that reinforce their roles in combat/ the world around them. I assume this is an incomplete ruleset in the same way that the G.L.O.G is, which would explain the lack of spell lists. I can see this pairing especially well with Maze Rats random tables, like a perfect fit actually.

A jam with this game would be interesting I think.

A lot of people seem to be confused about the spells, so I'm going to update it to make it more clear. The wizard and cleric abilities are the only spells in the game. It's not acutally meant to be an incomplete ruleset, just a really simple one mostly designed for oneshots. But if you wanted to continue using it in larger campaigns, I would definitely recommend expanding on the rules.

    Thanks for the feedback :)
